Chef Blanton Named James Beard Semifinalist

Travel writers are constantly surprised by the extensive and impressive
restaurant offerings in Whitefish. From sushi to wild game, the Whitefish dining scene is exploding with flavor that exceeds most expectations for a small mountain town near Glacier National Park.
Many chefs work hand in hand with local farmers to bring the freshest produce and meat available from farm to table. One of these Chefs is Andy Blanton, who is making quite a name for himself in the culinary world.
Andy was just named a semifinalist for "Best Chef of the Northwest" by the prestigious James Beard Foundation. This past summer, Andy was part of team that will be featured in an upcoming PBS special called "Endless Feast."
When journalists come to town, we take them on many adventures - from the ski slopes of Big Mountain at Whitefish Mountain Resort to the wilds of Glacier National Park. Cafe Kandahar is one of the highlights of the more refined dining adventures we expose writers to and we're excited that Andy is being recognized on a national level for his culinary creativity.
